"Head west. Leave the highway for a two land state route. Turn right. Turn left. See the driveway. Turn right. It hits you as soon as you hear the tires on gravel. Light flickers down through a green forest. Magical. So magical! But what is that feeling? Your body is different here.
Your breath inhales. Exhales. Ah. yes. You can leave the world behind. Your shoulders lose the tension of striving. Your eyes delight in one hundred shades of green. (What does one call that translucent pistachio-sage color?) It’s inaudible to your human ears, but the hum of the land hits your heart. Your soul. The ancestors await.
Here is a sacred place. To create. Express. Connect. Pray. Sing. Dance.

For me, it was a place to write. With the warmth of the wood stove and a view to the meadow, the words arrived. I welcomed them to the page. Drank tea. Laughed. Listened. Learned.
