VISION
Moss Terra Sacred Sanctuary, a nonprofit land conservation center, honors a 45-year legacy of preserving this mystical haven for private events, retreats, and community gatherings that foster learning and connection.
We aim to expand the existing structures at Moss Terra Sacred Sanctuary, allowing for larger and more frequent events. This growth will help sustain the land’s preservation while ensuring it remains a serene gathering space for all who are drawn to its beauty and purpose.
As a nonprofit, all funds collected will support the development of new infrastructure, indoor spaces, operating expenses, and the preservation of this captivating woodland sanctuary.
With deep respect for the trees, ferns, stones, and forest ecosystems, we will thoughtfully expand our parking capacity as part of this growth.
In addition to our existing roundhouse and sweat lodge, new structures will include a spacious yurt, shower and bathroom facilities, a communal kitchen and gathering space, bunkhouses, and a few tiny homes for lodging.
Moss Terra Sacred Sanctuary will be available for a variety of private events and retreats, including yoga and nature connection workshops, continuing education for massage and bodywork, meditation retreats, sweat lodges, vision quests, nonprofit trainings, staff and board retreats, music workshops, small concert venue, weddings, and other unique and inspired gatherings.

WHO WE ARE
People feel it when they arrive. MossTerra holds a vibration of earth, ancestral, and otherworld energy that is palpable and powerful. In this sacred landscape, people are invited to explore and come home to the sacred landscape in their lives.
In the five decades we have lived here, Dennis and I have been honored to be stewards of this magical forest. Through the many spiritual gatherings and ceremonies, sweat lodges and workshops, we have witnessed and experienced the sacred nature of this land become sacred relationship.
As we considered what would happen with MossTerra in the future, it was clear that selling it would not honor this sacred relationship. So we have created the MossTerra Sacred Sanctuary nonprofit to provide environmental and sacred stewardship of this land into the future. To realize MossTerra as a place of spiritual, physical, emotional, and mental healing. To sustain the natural evolution and integrity of the land and forest. To continue to welcome people here into sacred relationship through gatherings, sweat lodges, and individual sanctuary.
This is our legacy. We are deeply honored to know this legacy will nurture future generations.
Warmly,
Judith Nilan & Dennis Crowley

Patrick Good: Executive Director of Moss Terra Sacred Sanctuary:
For the past 20 years, my life’s work has been dedicated to healing. At first, it was through bodywork and massage, then it expanded—into yoga, meditation, nutrition, and other wellness practices. But the most profound lesson I’ve learned is this: healing isn’t just an individual journey—it’s something we do together.
One of the most powerful and transformative experiences we can have is the felt sense of belonging—of being truly seen, heard, and supported. This realization led me to teach yoga, lead men’s groups, and mentor youth in public schools.
And now, it has led me to something even greater: Moss Terra Sacred Sanctuary—a place where healing, ceremony, and community come together.
